Joinery Squamish Offers Fresh, Local Cuisine

There’s an exciting new addition to the culinary scene in Squamish.  Joinery is pleased to announce it opened its doors on September 15, 2017.

The restaurant is the newest initiative from the owners of Squamish’s Cloudburst Café and The Locavore food truck.  The Locavore quickly became a neighbourhood favourite, as well as a delightful discovery for travellers on Highway 99.  The new venture is a full-service restaurant with a family-friendly environment, where guests can order either small or large plate to mix, match, and share.  The venue’s long tables encourage sociability between parties, and Joinery boasts the largest patio in Squamish, with views of the surrounding mountains.

As at the popular Locavore, the emphasis will be on local and sustainable ingredients, and there’s always a diverse range of daily specials.  Executive Chef Cameron Hunter will introduce a menu of evocative Pacific Northwest cuisine that reflects Squamish’s celebrated mountain and ocean culture.  Chef Hunter has cultivated strong relationships with local purveyors of produce, meat, and seafood; in the past, he has worked with Sebastian Cortez, who now owns and operates a highly successful butcher shop in West Vancouver, and with Pastry Chef Cliff Briden of London, Ontario.

Joinery Squamish will also be licensed, and renowned Vancouver mixologist Shaun Layton, formerly of L’Abattoir and Juniper, was consulted in the development of the bar program.  It will feature handcrafted cocktails as well as a range of bottled beers and a rotating selection of beers on tap.  There will also be carefully chosen wine options.  Joinery’s owners plan to start up a winery in the near future, so look for unique Squamish-made wines coming to the location at a later date.  In the meantime, the restaurant’s Happy Hour will take place from 4-6pm.
