19th Annual “Wine’d Up” Event Supports Whistler Search & Rescue

On Saturday, October 20th, 2018, the Whistler Search and Rescue Society (WSAR) will hold its annual “Wine’d Up” fundraising dinner and auction. The evening includes a five-course dinner prepared by some of the resort’s top chefs, paired with select wines from California.

Brad Sills, the President of WSAR, notes that Wine’d Up is the single largest source of revenue for his volunteer-driven agency. WSAR saves numerous lives every year, and the non-profit organization is an invaluable resource to the RCMP, the local community, and the visitors to Whistler who propel the resort’s economy.

Renowned Californian winery and exporter E. & J. Gallo will provide a selection of premium Californian wines that will be paired with cuisine from five renowned chefs:

* Steve Bjormark, Executive Events Chef, Whistler Blackcomb/Vail Resorts
– Chateau Souverain Rosé

* Eren Guryel, Executive Chef, Four Seasons Resort

– William Hill North Coast Chardonnay
* James Walt, Executive Chef, Il Caminetto & Quang Dang, Executive Chef, Araxi Restaurant
– Talbott Vineyards Kali Hart Pinot Noir
* Isabel Chung, Executive Chef, Fairmont Chateau Whistler
– Orin Swift Abstract
* Dustin Harkness, Executive Chef, Whistler Cooks Catering
– J Cuvée 20 Brut

In addition to outstanding food and wine, guests will enjoy live and silent auctions featuring items generously donated by businesses, artists, and individuals from the local community and beyond. Recommended attire for the evening is smart casual/smart western.

The event is generously supported by the United States Consulate.
