H Tasting Lounge at The Westin Bayshore launches new patio and menu

Take it Outside! H Tasting Lounge Unveils New Patio and Fresh Menu
Stunning outdoor space at The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, now open

Spring is about all things fresh and new. And in that spirit, H Tasting Lounge proudly unveils its beautiful new patio, which debuts alongside tempting all-new, seasonal menus.

H Tasting Lounge (HTL) — The Westin Bayshore Vancouver’s destination for a selection of curated cocktails complemented by locally-sourced tasting plates — has received widespread attention for its award-winning interior. Now, the art deco lounge boasts a newly opened seaside patio to complement the ambiance and timeless glamour of its dining room and bar; a vessel to the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Like the lounge interior, HTL’s patio was conceived by Liv Interiors.

Features of the dazzling 1,765-square-foot space include:
• capacity for 50 guests (seated)
• tables for parties of 2 to 4, plus four tables to accommodate larger groups of 6 to 8, featuring plush lounge seating
• a 30-foot fireplace feature that runs the length of the patio, for those unexpectedly cooler nights.

HTL’s patio location is perhaps the most enviable in the city, offering breathtaking views of the harbour and North Shore Mountains, with direct access to the Vancouver seawall.

Better still, the arrival of patio season coincides with the introduction of HTL’s new summer menus.

Taking centre stage is a line-up of creative libations crafted by HTL’s talented bartenders, Andrew Kong and Chiara Fung. Cocktails are classified by flavour profiles that include stirred & boozy, bubbly, shaken, punch-style, and martini, delighting all cocktail lovers’ palates. Think fresh, effervescent gins, aged rums, tea-infusions, and shareable punch bowls; every element of each beverage – from the glassware, to the cut of the ice and serving temperature – is thoughtfully crafted to get each sip just right. Try, for instance, the Metropolitan martini (vodka, vermouth, sumac kiwi, lime bitters) or the bold Opportune Moment stirred cocktail (Sparrow rum, brandy, sherry, smoke, bitters). Designated drivers and proud abstainers: we’ve got you covered too, with equally delicious spirit-free concoctions like Rolling Uphill (mountain berry tea, coconut, lime, soda) and Peaceful Garden (jasmine pearl tea, elderflower, lemon, edible rose pearl).

HTL’s culinary creations are fresh, locally-sourced, and stripped of the extras – dishes are prepared in a style that is designed to complement the signature beverage program. The culinary team, led by Chef Shaun Maclean, looks no further than their own backyard to source the freshest ingredients from the bounty of the Vancouver seafood scene; each plate is infused with ingredients from local artisans like Two Rivers Specialty Meats, Uno Gelato, Gastown Organics, and more. HTL’s refined yet accessible menu includes continental bistro classics like chilled and raw seafood (prawns, mussels, clams), a daily oyster fresh sheet, carpaccios and tartares, Niçoise and wedge salads, and savoury tartines.

HTL’s afternoon tea service continues every weekend from 11:30am to 5pm, featuring Tealeaves loose-leaf tea selections, and an indulgent variety of sweet and savoury delicacies.

The HTL patio is open daily from 11:30am to midnight (weather permitting), with happy hour served daily from 5 to 7pm.
