Tofino Resort + Marina launches new Paddle Boarding Adventure

Tofino Resort + Marina launches new Paddle Boarding Adventure
A wildlife tour like no other in Tofino, British Columbia

Get closer to nature than ever before with Tofino Resort + Marina’s brand new Paddle Boarding Adventure, offering guests the chance to paddle alongside whales and sea lions, view bears foraging along the shoreline, explore rivers and remote lakes and experience the hidden coves and beaches of the Tofino Inlet.

The new four-hour adventure (four guests, $600, departures at 6am, 11am and 4pm) starts with a private boat trip into the Clayoquot Sound – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – where a guide will help guests deploy stand up paddleboards. Cruise the shallow waters and marvel at old-growth forests, while watching for wildlife and soaking in the tranquil surrounds. On the journey home, guests can pull crab traps and enjoy the resort’s Cook Your Catch program – Canada’s Top Chef Paul Moran and his team will prepare guests’ fresh catch for dinner at 1909 Kitchen, accompanied by seasonal sides and sauces.

Also new this summer, Tofino Resort + Marina has added a fleet of city and fat bikes for rent ($35 per day), bringing guests even closer to the artisan boutiques, surf shops and world-class dining scene of this ruggedly refined ocean-side community, as well as providing the unique and exhilarating opportunity to ride on the beach.

“We are extremely excited to offer guests the opportunity to delve deeper into Tofino’s incredible destination experiences, from the convenience of our onsite Adventure Centre,” says Peter Dick, Dock Manager at Tofino Resort + Marina. “Whether paddling through the waters of Clayoquot Sound or cruising along Tofino’s endless beaches on fat bikes, we have options for every traveller.”

Alongside the onsite Adventure Centre, Tofino Resort + Marina offers affordable guestrooms, waterfront restaurant 1909 Kitchen, The Hatch Waterfront Pub, TUFF Fit gym and Tofino’s largest private marina with moorage of up to 130-foot. Other Adventure Centre experiences include: whale watching, as the summer months bring migratory grey whales to Tofino’s waters; bear watching boat trips to watch black bears scavenge for rock crab in their natural habitat; Hot Springs Cove where guests can experience the legendary hot pools, fed by geothermal waterfall and hidden in the forest; and salt- and fresh water-fishing adventures where enthusiasts are joined by a skilled guide to find the best spots for salmon, halibut, tuna and cod.
