2019 #FavouriteThings Holiday Gift Suggestions Yealand Land Made Sauvignon Blanc

We are always suggesting bottles of wine as host and hostess gifts. This Yealand Land Made Sauvignon Blanc fits the bill, especially now until December 28th when it is on sale at B.C.Liquor Stores. A good reason to make it a #FavouriteThings Holiday Gift Suggestion.

LAND MADE SAUVIGNON BLANC

MARLBOROUGH | 2018

Thinking differently is what we do at Yealands. Crafting award winning wines in harmony with nature has seen us lead the world in sustainable winegrowing. But most importantly, it means great tasting wines which don’t cost the earth.

The Yealands Estate Land Made range is sourced from New Zealand’s leading wine regions. The winemakers have chosen to allow the land to tell its own story, selecting parcels of grapes carefully nurtured from the vine to the bottle. These individual parcels are skillfully combined to produce intense and authentic wines, reflective of their distinctively unique origin.

TASTING NOTES

Bouquet: Shows lifted notes of citrus blossom and passionfruit, underpinned with aromas of fresh herbs and lemon zest. Palate: The palate is full and lively with juicy tropical fruit that is balanced with a long, crisp mineral finish. Food Match: Enjoy with both fresh and cooked seafood dishes such as oysters, prawns, green lip mussels and fish. Dietary Information: Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and a gluten free diet. Cellaring Recommendation: Enjoy now, or cellar up to 2 years.

$16.99 on sale until December 28th at BC Liquor Stores

ANIMALS, NATURAL COMPOST AND PEST CONTROL – You can find Southdown Babydoll sheep and Kunekune pigs in their vineyards, grazing between the vines. Which means they don’t have to mow the grass often and they contribute to compost. You’ll find chickens too grazing, keeping vineyards pests under control, which means they don’t have to use chemicals to kill the bugs.

Other initiatives – use rainwater collection, wind turbines, solar panels, and heat recovery technologies to put energy ack on the grid. I can send you some cute sheep and pig photos in the vineyard if you like, or other winery photos.

CarboNZero certification – Yealands was the first winery in the world to be granted this.

Tasting notes and bottle shot provided by Vanny Whitchelo, Trianto Wines. Feature image courtesy of the winery. I received a complimentary bottle of this wine to facilitate this feature.
