2019 #FavouriteThings Holiday Gift Suggestions – Black Sage

Long been a personal favourite the rich red wines of Black Sage. I personally recommend them and that’s why year and year Black Sage is on our #FavouriteThings Holiday Gift Suggestions list.

This year it’s their 2015 Shiraz.

2015 Shiraz

TASTING NOTES Lots of dark plum, blackberries and vanilla on the nose. The palate is rich and full with flavours of blackberries, vanilla and a luscious toasty oak. The acid is balanced with very approachable tannins and a long finish.
FOOD PAIRINGThis full bodied wine stands up to big bold flavours, such as prime rib, peppercorn steak, wood-fired pizza and herbed rack of lamb, the classic Shiraz pairing.

All Black Sage Vineyard™ wines are fermented in small lots, which allows for careful monitoring and direction. A combination of punch-down and pump-over fermenting extracts firm tannins from the grapes without aggressive harshness. The process is also temperature controlled to achieve a balance between colour, tannin extraction and fruit flavours.

Tasting notes and images courtesy of the winery. One complimentary bottle of Shiraz provided by Bailey Jelinski, Think Milk.
