Today we welcome Red Rooster to our group of wineries with special incentives to #ShiptoSip.
We have featured Red Rooster before and their wines make our list of #FavouriteThings. With everyone impatiently waiting for spring we are pleased to present their newly released Rosé.
It’s time to poke your head out of the nest and embrace this great spring like weather while enjoying a glass of Red Rooster Rosé for your sipping pleasure.
2019 BC VQA Rare Birds Series Rosé
ABOUT THE WINE
Picture yourself ‘making tracks’ through the courtyard casually sipping rosé mid afternoon. This blushing Rooster has many different ‘feathers’ in the blend; 47% Pinot Noir. 30% Malbec, 21% Syrah and 2% Gernache. The Pinot Noir and Malbec did not receive any skin contact time and were pressed immediately upon arrival. The Syrah and Grenache were allowed a few hours of skin contact, then a small portion of the juice was bled off each tank ( a process called Saignee). The varietals were feremented and aged in Stainless Steel to preserve the fresh vibrant fruit aromatics. Limited production of 394 cases.
TASTING NOTES
‘Pretty in Pink’ colour with a summer fresh aroma of strawberry, watermelon, crab apple, red currant, cherry and rose petal. The medium frame is supported by refreshing acidity. Flavours of red berry, currant and red cherry fill the mouth. Refreshing red fruits and red berry tea notes linger on the finish of this extra-dry rosé.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Fabulous aperitif or summer sipper. Enjoy with tapas, gourmet pizzas, pissaladiere, feta cheese, Greek salads, crab cakes, poached salmon, pan-fried panko crusted trout, spiced shrimp skewers, charcuterie plate, pork tenderloin with rhubarb sauce.
