Winter is over. The sun is shining. Best of all, there are new wines to celebrate this much-needed change in season.
It can come as no surprise that we at Clos du Soleil are sun-loving souls – it is right there in our name after all. What we love most about the re-emergences of rays is that this season heralds the arrival of our Spring wine releases. RosĂ©? Every day. FumĂ© Blanc? An obsession, if we’re being frank. Plus Pinot Gris, a members-only bottling of Expression, and, the one you’ve all been waiting for, the newest vintage of Signature
In short, we’re delighted it’s spring, for so many reasons. And we’re celebrating with a couple of winemaker’s dinners, the return to daily tastings, and an announcement that ALL our vineyards are now certified organic. Read on for all the details.
Happy spring, and we hope to see you in the Similkameen this season,
La famille Clos du Soleil
Spring Releases
SUMMER ESSENTIALS
Spring Releases: Rose 2022 and Fume Blanc 2022
Nothing says sunny weather is here quite like a glass of chilled Rosé or Fumé Blanc. The Clos du Soleil 2022 vintages of these two summer essentials will not disappoint. Time to get picnic ready and stock up on flavourful favourites.
New Release: Signature 2020
The long-awaited new vintage of our flagship red Bordeaux blend – Signature 2020 – is here. This wine, which sells out quickly every vintage, is built to age beautifully, but if you’re too impatient to wait, it’s delicious right now too!
Spring Releases – Pinot Gris 2022
The grapes for Pinot Gris 2022 were grown on our Whispered Secret Vineyard, a cooler site on the south side of the valley, ideal for flavour development. The result? A rich, ripe expression of Pinot Gris packed full of flavour: ripe stone fruit, crisp apple, a streak of stony minerality, and zingy citrus.
New Release – Club Members Only Expression 2020
As an expression of our appreciation to our wine club members, we periodically produce members-only exclusive bottlings. Introducing Expression 2020, a Malbec-dominant blend now available to club members online. Not yet a member? There’s still time! Keep reading to see how to join our club.
Vineyard Organic Status Update
All of Clos du Soleil’s own vineyards are now certified organic.
We are absolutely delighted to reveal that our La CĂ´te Vineyard, which has been in transition to organic status since we purchased it in 2018, is now officially certified organic! This means that 100% of our own Clos du Soleil vineyards are now organic.
Located just down the road from the Clos du Soleil Estate Vineyard on the Upper Bench of the Similkameen Valley, La Côte vineyard is home to Malbec and Chardonnay grapes. The Malbec in particular is very exciting as it gives us a constant source of the grapes we use to make our annual sell-out Malbec Rosé. Watch this space for more news and updates on the wines you can expect to come out of La Côte.
