Mum’s the word: OpenTable unveils diner-backed Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch
and Lunch in Canada for Mother’s Day 2025

New consumer research shows over half of British Columbians (54%) plan on dining out for Mother’s Day this year1, and with OpenTable unveiling its new list of Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch and Lunch in Canada for 20252, it’ll be easier than ever to secure mom’s favourite meal.
Last Mother’s Day, 1:00 p.m. saw the biggest year-over-year growth at 22 per cent, so for the first time in Canada, OpenTable has extended the list to include brunch and lunch offerings. 3 British Columbia features 17 restaurants for mom’s brunch or lunch needs, with the following 14 spots around Vancouver making the list:

With 50 per cent of Canadians planning to dine out this Mother’s Day,3 OpenTable reveals its list of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch and Lunch for 20254 ahead of the special occasion. The list features 56 spots in Ontario, 17 in British Columbia, 14 in Alberta, 10 in Quebec and one each in Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan. It is compiled from analyzing over 980,000 diner reviews, along with diner ratings, reservation demand and a minimum of brunch reviews and Sunday lunch availability among other factors.4
In addition to the Top list, OpenTable identifies the key Mother’s Day dining trends for 2025.
A family affair. Nearly three quarters (71%) of Canadian moms prefer to celebrate Mother’s Day with a family brunch or lunch with their children present.3 The Top 100 List has several restaurants featured that are tagged “good for groups” including Montreal’s McKiernan Rôtisserie and Porch in Calgary, which can accommodate the entire family.
Independent mamas. 43 per cent of Canadian moms have taken the lead and booked their own celebratory Mother’s Day meal.3 Further to this, 19 per cent of Canadian moms feel empowered enough to consider dining out alone as part of their Mother’s Day celebrations.3
All about the experience. If Canadian moms could design the perfect meal out to celebrate, 40 per cent said it would be dining near waterfronts and scenic views,3 which can be done at Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant, and 26 per cent would like a chef’s tasting menu,3 which can be found at Toronto’s Cafe Boulud, both available on OpenTable Experiences. On Mother’s Day in 2024, Experiences saw a 52 per cent increase year-over-year reflecting this trend in dining.2
