Final Event in Sipping Around BC Series – South Okanagan and Similkameen Winemakers Dinner

Following the success of previous dinners in the “Sipping Around BC” series, L’Abattoir has partnered with Wines of BC and S. Pellegrino to host the final event on Wednesday, October 23rd, focusing on the South Okanagan and Similkameen regions. This series of events have been aimed at supporting the BC wine industry through one of its most challenging vintages, with all events providing an opportunity for guests to learn about each wine region.

The finale will feature an incredible lineup of three wineries and winemakers; Orofino Vineyards with Winery Principal John Weber, Le Vieux Pin with Winemaker Severine Pinte and the Winemaker from Black Hills Estate Winery, Ross Wise MW. Each principal will share stories about their winemaking regions and their unique wines, allowing guests to explore the characteristics of the South Okanagan and Similkameen.

The evening will take place in L’Abattoir’s Private Dining Room, featuring a meticulously crafted 5-course menu paired with the wines from these renowned wineries. Guests will also be able to purchase these wines at cellar door prices, a rare opportunity to take home bottles not easily found elsewhere.

In light of the series’ success and its role in supporting the BC wine industry, L’Abattoir’s Head Sommelier, Andrew Forsyth, shared, “It’s been incredible to see the response to our series. The South Okanagan and Similkameen regions produce such extraordinary wines, and this final dinner is sure to be a celebration of the talent and resilience of these winemakers.”

L’Abattoir has long championed BC wines, receiving accolades such as the Platinum designation at the Vancouver International Wine Festival’s Wine List Awards since 2018 and through events like this one, the restaurant continues its dedication to showcasing the best the province has to offer.
