Painted Rock is more than a winery; it is an extension of a family. The Skinner’s dream of having their own vineyard was born after spending time exploring wineries in the South of France with their family.
Once the centre of the largest apricot orchard in the British Commonwealth. Braeside Farms harvested apricots here from the early 1900s until the orchard was felled in response to the gypsy moth infestation of the late 1980s. The property, known locally as “The Blackhawk” laid fallow until we acquired and contoured it in 2004 and planted in 2005.
Transportation to and from the winery has been graciously provided by Grape Escapes Wine Tours by donation. Various pick up and drop off spots throughout Penticton will be available.
