Monthly al fresco long table wine dinners kick off July 5 at

Summer time is for lounging outdoors, meeting new people, and catching up with friends and loved ones over inspired food and great beverages. That’s why the Westin Bayshore’s newly minted H2 Rotisserie & Bar is re-launching the hotel’s Long Table Dinner Series.
Once a month, the warm and lively restaurant, which overlooks Coal Harbour, sets up a 30-seat long table on its expansive garden terrace, and Executive Sous Chef Mike Reid, along with H2’s culinary team, prepare a five-course dinner paired with select BC wines. The region’s best seasonal and sustainable produce is used to create a menu that you’ll be talking about, both at the table and long afterward.
The Long Table Dinners are relaxing events that unfold over three hours – a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, or create a memorable experience out of an otherwise ordinary summer evening.
On Wednesday, July 5, wines from Kelowna’s award-winning Sandhill Winery will be matched with the chefs’ finest fare, including Shellfish Bisque with rye bread, crème fraiche and salmon roe; Beef Tartare with spiced mustard, gherkin and pickled shallot; Stuffed Morels with bone marrow, onion jus, and brioche; Haida Gwaii Halibut with scallop, smoked corn purée and harissa; and, Strawberry Shortcake with mascarpone and citrus almond butter.
On Wednesday, August 16, the Long Table Dinner will feature wines from Okanagan Falls’ Synchromesh, which specializes in Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc varietals.
On Thursday, September 14, bottles by Similkameen Valley boutique winery, Hugging Tree, will be featured. In 2016, Hugging Tree’s 2012 Moonchild Merlot took gold at the Okanagan Wine Festivals in the BC Best of Varietal Awards category. Among its other delicious wines are Rosé and Viognier.
