A NEW DAWN — AND DUSK — FOR CAFÉ MEDINA
Daytime Hotspot Rolls Out Expanded Service, Menus for Private Evening Events, Parties and Dinners
The new incarnation of Café Medina continues to evolve, as the breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch hotspot is now available to be booked for a variety of private evening functions in its new home at 780 Richards St. in Vancouver’s Library District.
Boasting high ceilings, up-cycled lighting fixtures, antique mirrors and traditional art deco panel moulding, Café Medina’s expansive dining room marries the romance of 1920s Paris and the utilitarian sensibilities of a working person’s café. It offers a truly unique and instantly memorable setting for celebrations, parties and gatherings for up to 60 guests seated or 100 guests reception-style.
Whether it’s a cocktail-and-canapé mingler or a sit-down dinner, Executive Chef Jonathan Chovancek has designed an array of seasonal evening menu options featuring Café Medina’s signature rustic, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Besides a variety of sumptuous canapés and appetizer platters, Café Medina offers a dinner buffet for $50 per person and three-, four- or six-course plated dinner menus at $35, $50 and $75 per person, respectively — all of which can also be paired with a variety of custom cocktail creations, wine or beer.

“We’re excited to add a new component to Café Medina by opening our doors for select private nighttime events,” says owner Robbie Kane. “We’re so grateful for how well our new location and daytime menus have been received, and now it’s time to showcase what we’re able to offer once the sun goes down.”
Kane, who opened Café Medina at its original Crosstown location in 2008, has garnered rave reviews since moving the popular restaurant to its refurbished new location in August. Beyond the expanded seating, the new Café Medina features a number of improvements such as large, street-facing windows, an open kitchen, 10-seat cocktail bar and eight-seat coffee bar. The restaurant is also equipped with a full drop-down screen and multimedia capabilities ideal for presentations and corporate events.
