Weekend Brunch at WildTale Coastal Grill Launches March 12

New brunch menu offers a warm way to chill on weekends

Delicious, lively and laid-back are the three essential components of a great brunch, which is why WildTale Coastal Grill is perfect for the most relaxed and friendly meal of the week.

Starting at 10 am on Saturdays and Sundays as of March 12, the Yaletown restaurant and its 40-seat patio will be your weekend brunch go-to. Vancouverites John Crook and Erik Heck, co-owners of WildTale and the Flying Pig restaurants, know exactly how much fun a weekend get-together can be, whether those gathered around the table are multiple generations of one family, or friends who don’t get to see each other enough.

“The last thing you’d call WildTale is stuffy or subdued,” says Heck. “You don’t need to put on your Sunday best to enjoy brunch while catching up with friends and family here.”

Toast the weekend with a cocktail from WildTale’s ‘Wake Ups’ list, featuring appetizing eye-openers such as the Strawberry Muddle, made with crushed strawberries, lemon and sparkling wine. WildTale also offers ‘Fresh Juice and Smoothie Bar’ selections, featuring tasty concoctions like the Fresh Start, a mix of green apple, fennel, honeydew, kale and lime.

WildTale is, of course, known for its seafood. An oyster po’boy with Imperial Eagle oysters and tartar sauce or the shrimp salad clubhouse on multigrain bread might be your ideal mid-day choice, but there’s much more to the brunch menu than seafood.

Choose from ultra-healthy to slightly more decadent dishes such as:

•Egg white frittata with tomatoes, peppers, spinach, zucchini and cheese

•Fried chicken and waffles

•’Peace River’ Bison Ribeye Burger with hand-cut fries

•Vanilla waffles with Chantilly cream and berries

And some special sides worth sharing include:

•Fried beefsteak tomatoes with basil aioli

•Maple-glazed bacon with rosemary and thyme syrup

•House-smoked salmon with dill sour cream

“Whatever you’re up for, slide out from under your duvet and roll on in,” says Crook. “We look forward to welcoming you – treat our casa as your casa, with the bonus that you won’t be doing the dishes.”
