Vancouver Farmers Markets (VFM) will celebrate ugly fruits and vegetables this weekend as part of their 15th Annual Tomato Festival, which takes place this Saturday at Trout Lake Market and Sunday at Kitsilano Market.
Fans of the Love Apple can see and sample over 150 weird and wonderful varieties of tomatoes at the festival, and enter their ugliest, most unusual tomato pics in VFM’s Inglorious Tomato Instagram Contest for a chance to win Market Money.
Other Tomato Fest highlights include tomato-themed kids activities, face painting, and balloon art. Children can also learn how to plant seeds to take home from the friendly folks at Circle Farm Tour at Trout Lake on Saturday.
