Lakeside long table dinners at Aura Restaurant showcase local cuisine paired with delicious wines
With menus celebrating the best of seasonal and local produce, paired with award-winning wines, Nita Lake Lodge will host a series of Sip & Savour Winemaker Dinners this summer. Each month, the newly renovated Aura Restaurant will welcome a leading winemaker and their team to pair a multi-course meal prepared by Chef James Olberg.
“Building on the success of last summer’s Winemaker and Brewmaster dinners, we look forward to showcasing the best of our beautiful region for another season,” says Theresa Ginter, General Manager of Nita Lake Lodge. “With elegant long tables on our expansive 80 seat patio, guests will enjoy a wonderful evening of food, wine and company, with a view to match.”
With a focus on seasonality and the light, refreshing flavours that summer brings, each dinner event will feature a delicious four-course menu by Nita Lake Lodge’s Executive Chef James Olberg alongside wines chosen by the guest winemaker. The series begins on May 22 with La Stella Winery, followed by Painted Rock Estate Winery on June 12, Meyer Family Vineyards on July 24 and Burrowing Owl Estate Winery on August 7. All British Columbia winery dinners cost $89 per person. The series closes on September 11 with a dinner joined by the principals of Fontanafredda in northeastern Italy, named Wine Enthusiast European Winery of the Year 2017 ($125 per person).
