Odd Society Spirits Releases Batch #6 Single Malt Whisky for Dad
Vancouver’s premier craft-certified distillery, Odd Society Spirits will release batch #6 of their single malt whisky on Thursday, June 14 – just in time for Father’s Day.
Distilled from malted barley, grown exclusively in British Columbia and matured in American oak barrels for three years, this is the largest batch of whisky to be released from this award-winning distillery.
“I’m especially excited about this release of our single malt,” says Gordon Glanz, founder and distiller at Odd Society Spirits. “As a dad, and a whisky-lover, I was very pleased that we could time the launch of this unique batch of whisky for Father’s Day.”
Odd Society Spirits recently received top honours for their single malt whisky at the 2018 Canadian Artisan Spirits Competition, winning Gold for Best in Class in the whisky category. It was also named Audience Favourite at the 2018 BC Distilled festival in April.
This edition of Odd Society’s single malt whisky was matured in larger 56L barrels, yielding a whisky that is lighter in colour, with the nostalgic aroma of oak and golden honey and the rich flavours of hazelnut, almond and butterscotch.
The distillery is releasing approximately six hundred 500ml bottles of Odd Society Spirits’ #6 Single Malt Whisky in total. Priced at $50, the majority will be sold at the distillery’s bottle shop and cocktail lounge located at 1725 Powell St, Vancouver. The remaining bottles will be available at private liquor stores throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, as well as the Interior, the Okanagan, Vancouver Island and Alberta (price will vary).
With a limited amount available and a two bottle per person limit, enthusiasts are advised to get it before it’s gone.
For those looking to treat dad to a unique whisky experience on Father’s Day, Odd Society will be serving whisky neat, on the rocks and in cocktails from Thursday, June 14 to Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17. Cocktails will range from simple Japanese style whisky highballs to fan-favourites including Odd Society’s Whisky Amore priced at $13.
