BELLS AND WHISTLES DEBUTS NEW DAILY LUNCH, DINNER MENUS, TAPS NEW CORE LINEUP OF LOCAL CRAFT BEER FOR SPRING
Award-Winning Chicken & Waffle Poutine, Sandwiches, Salads, Sundaes and ‘Glory Daze’ IPA Collaboration With Beere Brewing Added to Food, Drink Menu at Fraserhood Hangout
Bells and Whistles is marking the arrival of spring by dropping a new menu of snacks, sandwiches and soft-serve sundaes as well as a refreshed core list of local craft beer on tap now available for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch at the Fraserhood hotspot.
Leading the charge is Bells and Whistles’ signature chicken & waffle poutine (waffle-cut fries, fried chicken, cheese curds, scratch-made chicken gravy and maple-parmesan crunch) that recently won the People’s Choice Award for Vancouver during the cross-country ‘La Poutine Week’ festival, in addition to:
- Korean fried chicken lettuce wraps (butter lettuce, gochujang, crispy noodles);
- Chicken wings in new buffalo, honey chipotle and herb-mustard flavours;
- The ribwich (slow-cooked pork, hickory sticks, slaw, grilled scallion aioli, tangy BBQ sauce, pickles);
- The California club (grilled chicken breast, bacon, avocado, Cajun spices, jalapeño jack, lemon aioli)
Lighter-fare fans can also make friends with salads, as the club med (arugula, quinoa, radishes, feta, herbs, cherry tomatoes, pomegranate molasses, cucumber, chickpeas, lemon-tahini dressing) and summer greens (butter lettuce, arugula, candied pecans, goat cheese, berries, red onion, pear, pumpkin seeds, poppy seed dressing) make their debut, with extras such as grilled avocado, fried or grilled chicken, ahi tuna steak and popcorn shrimp available as add-ons.
Meanwhile, local craft beer lovers can quench their thirst courtesy of a refreshed core list of brews that welcomes the exclusive-to-Bells-and-
- Four Winds’ ‘Nectarious’ Dry Hopped Sour;
- R&B Brewing’s ‘Vancouver Special’ West Coast IPA;
- Fuggles & Warlock’s ‘Kiwami’ Plum Sour;
- Twin Sails’ ‘Would Crush’ Raspberry Wheat Ale
At the Bells and Whistles bar, the cocktail menu will feature the triumphant return of pink sangria (rosé, brandy, fresh citrus, berries) now available in a fishbowl for two or more guests, whisky sours, gin gin mules, frozen mai tais (Havana 7 yo rum, Gosling’s dark rum, Cointreau, lime, passionfruit, orgeat) and ‘daisy dukes’ (Havana 3 yo rum, lemon, raspberry, soda).
For dessert, Bells and Whistles’ real-milk, soft-serve selection takes a tasty new twist with signature neapolitan dynamite (vanilla/strawberry twist, banana chips, chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles, cherry), oreo speedwagon (vanilla soft serve, Oreo cookies, graham cracker, shaved chocolate) and strawberry fields (strawberry soft serve, berries, birthday cake crumble, rainbow sprinkles) sundaes and a build-your-own option that combines Foothills Creamery-fresh vanilla, strawberry or twist soft serve with a choice of Oreo cookies, rainbow sprinkles, Skor bar pieces, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and fresh berries.
