Tacofino Celebrates Pride Weekend with Gastown Drag Bingo Party, Cocktail Special August 2 – 4

Tacofino will get loud and proud during Vancouver’s annual Pride Festival weekend from August 2 to 4 while supporting two worthy causes: Vancouver Friends For Life Society, which provides support services to people living with life-challenging illnesses, and Foundation of Hope, a charity that offers financial assistance to other charities actively supporting LGBT+ asylum seekers, refugees and newcomers.

On Friday, August 2 at Tacofino’s Gastown Taco Bar, local drag queens Mina Mercury and Carlotta Gurl will step into the spotlight to host four fierce rounds of interactive Drag Bingo beginning at 5 p.m. for a suggested cash donation of $10. Extended Happy Hour specials will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. and prizes will also be up for grabs throughout the night.

From Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4, Tacofino’s Vancouver restaurants (Hastings Commissary, Gastown Taco Bar, Oasis, Yaletown and Ocho) will also be offering a special Pride-themed ‘Te Amo’ cocktail made of custom lavender-and-butterfly-pea-infused Cazadores Blanco, Aperol, housemade blueberry syrup and soda. The limited-edition libation will be offered for $12, with $2 from the sale of each cocktail donated to Vancouver Friends for Life and Foundation of Hope.

“We’re thrilled that our Pride Weekend kickoff party at Taco Bar has become a not-to-be-missed event,” says Taco Bar Manager Peter Morry. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the show while supporting two very worthwhile charities.”

‘Te Amo’ Pride 2019 Cocktail

Ingredients:
1½ oz Butterfly Pea and Lavender infused Cazadores Blanco Tequila

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
½ oz Aperol

¾ oz house-made blueberry syrup

Soda water

Method:

1. Fill a collins glass with ice
2. Add the infused tequila, Aperol, lime juice, blueberry syrup, and top with soda
3. Garnish with a lemon wheel

Butterfly Pea and Lavender-infused Cazadores Blanco Tequila:
750 mL Cazadores Blanco Tequila

¼ cup Butterfly Pea Flower
2 TBSP Lavender

Method:

1. Combine tequila, butterfly pea flower and lavender
2. Let infuse for 24 hours before using
