Tasting Notes

Aromas of peach blossom, pineapple and citrus are married with a hint of toasty oak in this well rounded, elegant wine.

Winemaking Notes

Harvested from 28 year old vines on the Naramata Bench our 2017 Chardonnay was gently pressed, barrel fermented and aged in French Oak for 7 months. As with all Woodward Collection wines this wine lies down for an additional year in the bottle.

Food Pairings

With its refreshing stone fruit notes, this Chardonnay pairs beautifully with rich dishes like steak bernaise, creamy risotto or eggs benedict with Hollandaise sauce. Equally as nice are grilled chops with a selection of summer fresh red peppers, butternut squash and fresh baby potatoes with a hint of dill.

2016 Woodward Collection Tesoro Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes

This dark ruby red wine exhibits aromas of lavendar and black cherries intertwined with toasty oak aromas. The palate shows lovely acid and tannin balance which lingers with a soft, silky mouth feel. Enjoy this wine now or age for a good 7 years.

Winemaking Notes

“Tesoro” meaning treasure in Italian exemplifies the elegance and finesse of our flagship Pinot Noir. Harvested by hand from carefully selected vineyards, our Tesoro was patiently aged for 18 months in French oak before resting an additional year in the bottle. Earthy notes are accompanied by aromas of raspberry and black currents.

Food Pairings

Pinot Noir is the best varietal for food pairing because of it’s flexibility. John’s favorite is a carefully seasoned Rib Eye Steak but it is equally satisfying with Christmas Turkey or Thanksgiving Ham.

The Inspiration Behind Privato

Privato is the result of years of patience, dedication and care. Inspired by their love of fine wine and their time spent in Italy during the wine harvest, owners John and Debbie Woodward embraced their passion for wine and in 2010 forged a new direction by enhancing the family’s 80 acre property with their inaugural planting of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The inspiration for the name Privato comes from the Italian word meaning private. Often referred to by those who visit as “a little piece of heaven,” Privato is the private heaven of John and Debbie, and aptly describes the wineries idyllic setting.
