Lime Proud to be Shortlisted as Top Choice for Shared E-Scooter Provider by Vancouver City Staff
Lime, a global leader in shared electric vehicles, expressed its gratitude and pride following the publication of the City staff report on Vancouver’s forthcoming shared e-scooter program. Lime is honoured to have been recommended to become the preferred provider of shared e-scooters and eagerly awaits Council’s final decision, set to be announced next week on Wednesday, July 10.
“All of us at Lime are thrilled to be shortlisted by city staff as the potential shared e-scooter provider of choice for Vancouver. As a global leader in sustainability, technology, and transit, Vancouver’s launch of this program marks a significant milestone for micromobility in the city and throughout Canada. We are honoured and grateful to be considered and we take great pride in the programs we have developed with our partners in Richmond, Coquitlam, the North Shore, Squamish Nation and in Kelowna. We thank the city for its consideration and eagerly await next week’s Council decision,” said Sonia Kandola, Director of Government Relations at Lime.
Lime is proud to be a global leader in micromobility and one of the largest shared electric vehicle providers in Canada, operating in the country since 2018. Lime runs safe and tidy shared electric vehicle programs with booming ridership in Edmonton, Laval, Kelowna, Richmond, Coquitlam, Squamish Nation and the North Shore, now adding Mississauga and Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal to the list. Lime continues to lead the micromobility industry forward, having powered over 550 million rides in more than 280 cities across five continents.
This spring, Lime announced that 2023 was its best year ever with over 150 million rides and $600 million in gross bookings, which followed Lime’s announcement of record bookings and building a financially sustainable business in 2022. The news that Lime had led the industry forward on financial success and stability in 2022 was a milestone for the entire micromobility industry as it followed years of turbulence and financial challenges. Lime’s progress on building a financially successful and stable business has helped Lime become a top choice for cities looking to build micromobility programs around the world. It allows Lime to dedicate resources to innovation in hardware, staffing, and technology and to invest in local programs like the programs it operates here in British Columbia, throughout Canada, and around the globe. Lime has powered millions of rides in Canada in its history and believes the sky’s the limit for micromobility in British Columbia and across Canada.
