Petrichor French Farmhouse Restaurant unveils
menu updates for spring
While the essentials of classic French cuisine are timeless, seasonal menu changes give chefs the opportunity to showcase favourite ingredients and tempt tastebuds with fresh flavours suited to the time of year. This spring, Luc Duval and Thibault Nicaise of Petrichor French Farmhouse Restaurant have brought the flavours of Southern France to Gastown with refreshed food and drink menus perfect for Vancouver’s long sunny season ahead. The carefully selected new dishes shine a light on exceptional local ingredients while the new wine list is filled with irresistible French grapes, from everyday sips to special occasion treats.
Summer means fresh salads and the Heirloom Tomato Salad combines all the sweetness of locally grown tomatoes with the tang of Feta Mousse, olives, and pickled shallots, combined with an olive and date tapenade for all the flavors of the Mediterranean in one place. For sharing on Petrichor’s welcoming patio, the Duck Rillettes are classic, luscious treat which pairs perfectly with fresh brioche, and a glass of dry white. Salmon might be the signature seafood on the west coast and Petrichor’s housemade salmon gravlax is a simple, delicious seasonal expression served with housemade blinis.
A broader selection of French wines from Champagne from the North to elegant Loire Valley Sancerre and irresistible reds from the Rhone and Bordeaux offers diners delicious options to pair with everything from seasonal bites to rich classic dishes
On Fridays and Sunday, the Petrichor experience is elevated with live music to set the mood for a memorable meal. Live accordion on Fridays adds an unmissably French air to every visit, while live piano on Sundays is the ideal way to close out the weekend.
