OENODIA validates a high-precision partial dealcoholization pilot at the Centre du Rosé: a major breakthrough for precision winemaking!
Faced with the challenges of climate change and shifting consumer habits, winemakers need reliable solutions now more than ever to precisely adjust the alcohol content of their wines. To meet this need, OENODIA, the benchmark brand for eco-responsible oenological technologies, announces the technical validation of its new lab-scale pilot unit for partial de-alcoholization.
Oenodia tested its new lab-scale partial dealcoholization pilot unit at the Centre du Rosé in Vidauban, a leading research and experimentation facility. This compact and practical device allows for testing on small volumes of wine (5 to 10 liters) across various levels of alcohol reduction (decreasing by up to 6% ABV).
Objectives:
- Assess the impact of alcohol reduction and determine the best balance for each wine.
- Compare different reduction scenarios under controlled conditions.
- Validating final results during the development of new products.
This solution gives winemakers a key advantage: the ability to make fully informed decisions before launching a full-scale partial de-alcoholization operation.
Scientific validation in the heart of Provence
After several weeks of testing, the pilot unit has already proven its value. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, as highlighted by Aurélie CHEVALLIER, Laboratory Manager, and Gregori LANZA, Project Manager:
“Right from the first uses, the Oenodia pilot proved easy to operate, highly efficient, and delivered consistent, repeatable results. It is perfectly suited for conducting reliable and representative experimental work. Most importantly, it will make it possible to carry out trials on alcohol reduction, an issue that is now crucial in Provence.”
A tool integrated into OENODIA’s overall expertise
This new decision-support tool can now be used with each of the brand’s partial dealcoholization units, tailored to meet specific client needs and expectations..
OENODIA, which already equips more than 300 wineries in 30 countries, is expanding its offering to support a smoother technical process, where alcohol management goes hand in hand with pH control and tartrate stabilization (calcium and potassium), for which OENODIA treats more than one billion bottles each year.
OENODIA is reaffirming its commitment to providing tailor-made eco-friendly solutions that accelerate decision-making in the cellar while securing commercial success, particularly in export markets.
– About Oenodia –
Founded in 1996 and based in Pertuis, in the South of France, Oenodia is the benchmark brand for eco-responsible oenological technologies. Operating across all wine-producing continents, Oenodia designs and installs a range of tailor-made solutions for its clients (cooperatives, wine merchants, independent winemakers, etc.) to stabilize, filter, and control both the pH and alcohol content of wines. Each solution combines a high-precision production tool, the expert support of a team of engineer-oenologists, and unique guarantees on the market.
With Oenodia, cellar work becomes simpler: fewer oenological interventions, faster and more reliable operations, improved productivity and responsiveness to market demand, better cost control, and greater energy efficiency. By preserving and securing wine quality in a context of climate change, Oenodia helps make the future easier for its clients.
