Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music announces Wellness Through Music

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, in partnership with the Room 217 Foundation, is pleased to announce Music Care Training October 22nd and 23rd 2018. This marks the launch of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music’s Wellness Through Music.

Room 217 is a music-based health arts organization and social enterprise that provides an innovative approach to health and well-being called music care. Music care enhances quality of life and improves the care experience. Since 2005, Room 217’s team of music educators, music therapists, music and health researchers, community musicians and artists, has been helping enhance the quality of life for thousands of people. www.room217.ca

The VSO’s School of Music is driven by its mission enrich lives through the joy of learning, playing and performing the world’s great music; to make these experiences accessible to all, regardless of age ability, playing level or economic circumstances; and to nurture creative and engaged members of society through achievement in musical arts. The only music school founded and managed by a major symphony orchestra, the VSO School of Music opened in 2011 as a cultural amenity site for the City of Vancouver.
