“In this series I will be reviewing wines shared with friends”
From time to time I am the fortunate recipient of wines sent to me for review. It is especially nice to share these wines with friends. Not only does it make for lively conversation, and often diverse opinions, but it also makes for a very enjoyable occasion. So thanks to my wine loving friends who join me from time to time for a glass of wine.
“The road to a friend’s house is never long.” This is especially true when the purpose of the visit is to discover the secrets of a new wine.

Bodega Norton 2019 Perdriel Cabernet Franc
100% Cabernet Franc
Perdriel, a singular terroir that became the very first winemaking area sourth of the Mendoza River in Argentina. Finding its voice in the coming together of four expressive elements: The Andes, vines, grapes and hands.
Deep ruby red color. Attractive nose with aromas of blackberry and cherry combined with a subtle hint of fresh grass. Fine, ripe tannins well integrated. Very fresh and pleasant finish on the palate. Its complexity, bold structure and velvety finish convey the extreme conditions of the Perdriel terroir.
Drinkable for 10 years
Cabernet Franc is Full-Bodied & Robust.
Examples of great pairings: Grilled Steak, Roast Beef, Rack of Lamb, Lamb Shank, Osso Bucco, Sharp Cheddar
Rich with delicious notes of blackberries dark cherries, A beautiful dark ruby in colour with hints of minerality. The palate is rewarded with ripe fruits and gentle tannins . A lingering finish makes this wine something special. Delicious acidity.
The price point is unexpected and takes this wine to another level of desirability. Definitely going on my favourites list!
PERDRIEL
This is the original Norton property, where the winery is located. With a hundred years of continuous cultivation, it consists of 100 hectares, almost entirely planted 950m above sea level, with vines aged between 30 and 50 years old. The terroir offers a combination of poor soils and cold air coming from the mountain, which produces aromatic and concentrated white and red grapes, perfect for making powerful and elegant high-end wines. It excels in the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec varieties.
