Poppadoms is proud to announce that co-owner, Aman Dosanj, has been listed as one of ten winners for Western Living Magazine’s 2015 ‘Foodies of the Year’ awards.
In its eighth year, the Western Living Magazine’s ‘Foodies of the Year’ feature narrowed down a short list of forty finalists from around the country to just ten. The list is compiled to highlight those doing interesting things in their communities over the past year. In the article, Dosanj, a self taught chef, “is gaining mad respect for her tireless work ethic and endless curiosity—her days off are spent with Kelowna’s charcuterie kingpins and chef-mentors around the valley, endlessly collaborating and experimenting with likeminded foodies” (Jennifer Cockrall-King).
Western Living Magazine’s Editor, Neal McLennan said “For Foodies of the Year we receive hundreds of nominations for worthy candidates, and the Okanagan in particular, always has a disproportionate amount of great possible selections. But this year Aman Dosanj stood out not just for the number of people putting forward her name but how passionate they were about what Poppadoms is doing these days and what it means to Kelowna. Having visited there myself, I couldn’t agree more”.
“I’ve been working in a kitchen for over a year and a half now, quietly experimenting and learning more about food. I’m excited about where Poppadoms can take seasonal and local Indian food and it’s pretty cool that a small family-run restaurant in Kelowna can be featured in such an amazing list of foodie talent” said Aman Dosanj.
Poppadoms is currently working on spring and summer dates for their ‘One Big Long Table’ family-style dinner series, and the launch of a spring/summer menu created by Chef Jas Dosanj and Aman Dosanj.
