Summerhill Celebrates with Spot Prawns

Summerhill Supports Sustainable Seafood

Join the Winery at the 9th Annual Spot Prawn Festival May 17

Summerhill Pyramid Winery, long known both for backing environmentally-progressive initiatives, as well as its unwavering support for local and artisanal foodservice providers, has been named the lone wine sponsor at the 9th Annual Spot Prawn Festival, on May 17, 2015, presented by the Chefs’ Table Society of BC.
Purchasing tickets to The Spot Prawn Boil (single admission only $17.50), which includes a plate of three succulent BC spot prawns plus a selection of side dishes and bread, gives access to the drink tent for free samples from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Salt Spring Coffee and R&B Brewing.
The Summerhill team will be pouring their acclaimed Cipes Brut, a beautiful Riesling and Chardonnay-based traditional-method sparkling wine with aromas of apple, lime, pear, almonds and grapefruit. It will be showcased alongside the Cipes Rosé, a 100% Pinot Noir cuvée that offers notes of raspberry, strawberry, kiwi, blood orange, vanilla, almond, and white toast. Both, of course, pair perfectly with freshly cooked BC spot prawns.
“We are pleased to have been asked to participate at what has become a great festival for foodies of all ages, and a showcase for sustainably managed local food sources,” says Summerhill CEO Ezra Cipes. “The fact that there are reasonable limits imposed on the harvest balanced with continued monitoring of the spot prawn population, means that families will be able to enjoy the bounty of our oceans for years to come.”
The 9th Annual Spot Prawn Festival takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf (1505 West 1st Avenue, Vancouver, BC).
