DISCOVER THE WONDER OF WINTER IN BC WINE COUNTRY 

Nov. 27 – Dec. 6, 2015

 

Get into the holiday spirit early with a visit to some of BC’s best wineries. Between November 27th and December 6th you can find a great selection of open houses, events, light ups, tastings, gift ideas and more at the cellar doors of the wineries from six regional winery associations. Participating winery associations include Kelowna’s FabFive, Summerland’s Bottleneck Drive, Okanagan Falls Winery Association, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, the Similkameen Wineries Association and the Westside Wine Trail.

Winter in Wine Country Festival with Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country (Nov. 27-29 & Dec 4-6) Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country sparkles during the 2015 Winter In Wine Country Festival. Wrap up and join in the fun at the Winter in Wine Country Festival; two weekends of festive, family-friendly events in the communities of Oliver and Osoyoos. 30 Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association members will open their doors. They will all be dressed up for the season with Christmas decorations and offering roasted chestnuts, classic carol singing and wine tastings. Winery tours will be offered by Top Cat Tours for both weekends, starting from $35 per person, including transportation and tasting. Arrange childcare and head to the Oliver Tourism Associations, Rosé Revolution on Sat Nov 28. This celebration of the 18 local wineries producing Rosé wines features food pairing stations, live music and a people’s choice award. On Fri, Dec 4, Watermark Beach Resort hosts the premiere of Ventures in Wine Country, a series that goes behind the scenes of the wine industry, following three Okanagan winemakers.

 

Winter Wine© Land at Kelowna’s FabFive Wineries (Nov. 28) – Join the Kelowna FabFive in celebrating the season.  Special wine tastings, festive cheer and treats at each winery.  Fabulous shopping ideas and lots of sales await you at the third annual Winter WineLand.  Visit each of the 5 Kelowna FabFive wineries and give the gift of wine this holiday season!  November 28th, from noon to 5 pm.  Please bring a non-perishable donation for the Kelowna Food Bank.

 

Light up the Vines with Summerland’s Bottleneck Drive (Nov. 28 & 29) Spend a weekend touring your favourite Bottleneck Drive Wineries in Summerland as they “Light Up The Vines” for two special evenings this year. Visit November 28 & 29 from 3pm-8pm and enjoy wine tastings, special holiday promotions, a weekend passport to win a prize valued at over $500 and of course vines lit up! This year there will once again be both self-guided and guided tour options available as well as weekend accommodation packages.

 

Holiday Cheer Open House with the Okanagan Falls Winery Association (Nov. 28 & 29) – Join the wineries of Okanagan Falls on November 28 & 29 for our Holiday Cheer open house weekend in the “Heart of Wine Country”. Come visit 12 of our wineries for your holiday gifting ideas, food pairings & sample our delicious wines! It’s the season for giving. During the open house the OFWA wineries will be collecting non-perishable goods to donate to local charity Helping Hand’s Christmas Food Hampers. Plus, sign up for the OFWA newsletter for your chance to *Win a private wine tour for two with Top Cat Tours!

 

Similkameen Country Christmas with the Similkameen Wineries Association (Dec. 5 & 6) – Wine tastings, food pairings, decorated wine shops, art, gift ideas and holiday joy and cheer await you in the fifth annual Similkameen Country Christmas Winery Open House Tour which runs Dec. 5th and 6th from 12-4pm daily. In traditional holiday open house style, enjoy a self-guided tour as you meander through the beautiful Similkameen and visit our 9 participating wineries. Pick up a passport at your first stop and get it stamped at each winery along the way for your chance to win a $250 Similkameen Wineries Association wine lovers package. Rumour has it that even Santa loves to give (and receive!) amazing, award-winning wines from the Similkameen Valley!

 

Sip into the Season with the Westside Wine Trail (Dec. 6) – Sip some wine. See some crafts. Cross some holiday shopping off your list while enjoying an easy afternoon touring the wineries of West Kelowna.  Join the wineries of the Westside Wine Trail as they celebrate the holidays with their Sip into the Season event. On Sunday, December 6th each winery will host local artisans and crafters in their tasting rooms and cellars for a wine & craft tour. This unique event will see visitors travel from winery to winery as they enjoy the works of the artisans and crafters at each location as well as award-winning wines, gift packages and holiday cheer. This is a self-guided tour and for added convenience, touring options are available through Distinctly Kelowna Tours. The “Sip into the Season” event takes place from noon to 5 pm at participating wineries of the Westside Wine Trail.
