PUBLIC DALI EXHIBITION TRANSFORMS THE WAY VANCOUVERITES ACCESS GREAT WORKS OF ART

Chali-Rosso Art Gallery, Vancouver’s largest private gallery of original European Modern Master collections, and Oakridge Centre present Definitely Dali – a public Salvador Dali exhibition highlighting Dali’s original seven-foot tall bronze sculpture called the Dance of Time l. The installation will also include 12 gallery-sized Dali sculptures and 10 Dali artworks on the walls. The exhibition will run from Wednesday, September 13, 2017, until Sunday, October 1, 2017, in Oakridge Centre’s West Gallery – 650 W. 41st Avenue, Vancouver, BC.

A public Dali presentation by Chali-Rosso Gallery Director Oree Gianacopoulos will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Oakridge Centre’s West Gallery from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests will learn about Dali’s history, and there will be discussions about the meaning behind the various Dali sculptures and artworks on display.

Chali-Rosso Gallery and Oakridge Centre partnered on this exhibition to allow public access to some of Dali’s great works of art in a nontraditional gallery-type atmosphere. Adults and children alike can appreciate Dali’s artwork in this free and public setting where a diverse cultural and demographic group of people shop and gather on a regular basis. Oakridge Centre and Chali-Rosso want to redefine where art is showcased around Vancouver, and how individuals can obtain easy access to works of art beyond just galleries and museums. Oakridge Centre, a place where customers not only come to shop, but also a space where they can learn, enjoy beauty, meet friends, listen to music, and create and view artwork; it has become one of Vancouver’s great shopping destinations, and the Definitely Dali exhibition is a true example of how they are transforming their customers’ mall experience.

For the duration of this Dali exhibition, all public donations, as well as a percentage of Chali-Rosso Gallery sales will go to Arts Umbrella, a non-profit arts education centre for young people. To donate, individuals can go to www.definitelydali.com.

The Chali-Rosso Gallery has 100 additional original Salvador Dali artworks at their Howe Street location. The Dance of Time l Dali sculpture is on loan from The Stratton Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of culture and the arts, and which possesses the world’s largest collection of Dali’s monumental sculptures.
