Have you discovered the newest location of Tacofino? It is now on West 4th Avenue just between Mark’s Work Warehouse and Wanderlust. You’ll find them nestled below the sidewalk with a nice breezeway right in front. That is going to be so nice when the seasons change again. Meantime step inside this funky little, not so little, spot.
Tacofino is the perfect fit for West 4th in the area known as Kitsilano, formerly the Haight Ashbury of Vancouver. I loved the way they’ve made the decor fit the neighbourhood and also that the same great quality items are on their menu.
All my favourites, and I’m betting yours, are on their menu. You can slide onto the banquette seating or take a table for four or more on the opposite side of the totally white walled space. Kind of sparse chic decor that still manages to be comfy and welcoming.
The kitchen is putting out some fabulously classic Tacofino dishes to either eat inside, take advantage of the breezeway or wrapped to go TakeOut.
I dug into my favourite TacoFino fish taco which was big and filling. Meantime the rest of our large group of media types and influencers were sharing lots of yummy dishes. I especially enjoyed their version of nachos with crisp taco chips covered in tomato salsa that was spicey but not too spicey. The Burritos were gi-normous and a real hit.
Did I mention they also serve some great bevies. I couldn’t resist the classic lime margarita but you’ll find a great selection of cocktails to go with your meal.
Needless to say it is a “no reservation” walk-in casual, fun, exciting, great food, welcome to the neighbourhood kind of place that you will want to stop by often.
