Winemaker Barbara Tamburini receives two prestigious Awards

On the 3rd of February in Florence at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati, the headquarters of the Presidency of the Tuscany Region, at the press conference for the presentation of the Tuscany 2020 Previews, winemaker Barbara Tamburini was presented with a certificate of recognition together with the Golden Pegasus, the highest honor of the Tuscany Region, by the Councilor for Agriculture, Marco Remaschi.

This important award followed Barbara Tamburini’s assignment on the 30th November of the Oscar for Wine as Best Oenologist in Italy, the “Giacomo Tachis Award 2019”. One of the most prestigious international awards, given by Bibenda and the Italian Sommelier Foundation, this crowned her twenty-year professional activity.

For the solemn recognition of this prestigious award, the occasion of the Gala Evening for the yearly presentation of the Bibenda Guide was chosen. At this Gala, Diplomas of Excellence are delivered to Producers for wines awarded with 5 Bunches, Bibenda’s top honor.

The Oscars are assigned to different categories of the “wine world”, whose candidates are selected by an Academy of Experts.

The Wine Oscar for the Best Oenologist of the Year was established in 1999 and is awarded by the Academy for Oscars for particular professional merits that have emerged during the candidate’s work. After the death of the great master Giacomo Tachis, his name was added to Oscar prize, in memory of this unforgettable professional author of wines that have marked the history of wine-growing Italy in the world.

In the case of Barbara Tamburini, we are faced with a great professional, with uncommon technical skills, endowed with extraordinary style and sensitivity, who has accumulated, over the course of her career, dozens of prestigious awards, ranging from the crowning to “Regina del Merlot” Excellent Protagonists Award (Merlot World 2015), at the silver Rigoletto (AIS Lombardy 2014), at the silver plaque of the Senate of the Italian Republic (2012), at the delivery of the Luigi Veronelli prize Best Winemaker of the year 2007, at 2004 Tuscany Wines Award assigned by the Tuscany Region and numerous others.

The wines that she cares for and – often – signed, now constitute a heritage of Italian winemaking, also territorially speaking, since they are oenological pearls that belong to the most prestigious wine-growing areas of our country, ranging from Sicily to Valtellina, passing – obviously – from Tuscany, as its land of origin and of viticultural and enological election.

Elegant frame of the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria and audience in evening dress: in this context, Barbara Tamburini was invited to go on stage to receive the prestigious trophy as the best winemaker of the year from the hands of Franco Maria Ricci.

The most heartfelt congratulations to Barbara Tamburini and to the other recipients of the Award which sanctions their passionate and competent dedication in carrying out their daily work in the world of Italian wine.

The award ceremony saw the delivery of three other Oscars of Wine.

Lo scorso 3 febbraio a Firenze presso la sede della Presidenza della Regione Toscana, Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati, in occasione della conferenza stampa di presentazione delle Anteprime di Toscana 2020, è stato consegnato all’Enologo Barbara Tamburini un attestato di riconoscimento unitamente al Pegaso d’Oro, da parte dell’assessore all’Agricoltura Marco Remaschi.

Un’attribuzione importante avvenuta a seguito dell’assegnazione, lo scorso 30 novembre, a Barbara Tamburini, a coronamento della sua attività professionale ventennale, dell’Oscar del Vino come Miglior Enologo d’Italia, “Premio Giacomo Tachis 2019”, uno dei più prestigiosi riconoscimenti a livello internazionale, da parte di Bibenda e Fondazione Italiana Sommelier.

Per l’attribuzione solenne del prestigioso riconoscimento è stata scelta l’occasione della Serata di Gala per la presentazione della Guida Bibenda durante la quale vengono consegnati ai Produttori i Diplomi dell’Eccellenza per i loro Vini premiati con i 5 Grappoli.

Gli Oscar vengono assegnati a diverse categorie del “mondo vino”, i cui candidati vengono selezionati da un’Accademia di Esperti.

L’Oscar del Vino al Miglior Enologo dell’Anno, è stato istituito nel 1999 e viene conferito, dall’Accademia per gli Oscar, per particolari meriti professionali emersi nel corso dell’attività di lavoro del candidato. Dopo la scomparsa del grande maestro Giacomo Tachis, il premio Oscar è stato completato doverosamente con il suo nome, nel ricordo di un professionista indimenticabile, autore di vini che hanno segnato la storia dell’Italia vitivinicola nel mondo.

Nel caso di Barbara Tamburini, siamo di fronte ad una grande professionista, dalle capacità tecniche non comuni, dotata di stile e sensibilità straordinari, che ha accumulato, nel corso della sua carriera, decine di prestigiosi riconoscimenti, che vanno dall’incoronamento a “Regina del Merlot” Premio Protagonisti Eccellenti (Mondo Merlot 2015), al Rigoletto d’argento (AIS Lombardia 2014), alla targa in argento del Senato della Repubblica Italiana (2012), alla consegna del premio Luigi Veronelli Miglior Enologo dell’anno 2007, al Premio Vini di Toscana 2004 assegnato dalla Regione Toscana e numerosi altri.

I vini da lei curati e – spesso – firmati, costituiscono ormai un patrimonio dell’Enologia italiana, anche territorialmente parlando, poiché si tratta di perle enologiche che appartengono ai più prestigiosi territori vitivinicoli del nostro Paese, che vanno dalla Sicilia alla Valtellina, passando – ovviamente – dalla Toscana, in quanto sua terra di origine e di elezione viticola ed enologica.

Cornice elegantissima del Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria e pubblico in abito da sera. In questo contesto, Barbara Tamburini è stata invitata a salire sul palco per ricevere dalle mani di Franco Maria Ricci il prestigioso trofeo quale miglior Enologo dell’anno.

I più sentiti complimenti a Barbara Tamburini e agli altri personaggi destinatari del Premio che sancisce la loro appassionata e competente dedizione nello svolgere il loro quotidiano lavoro nel mondo del vino italiano.
