L’Abattoir celebrates 3 years of platinum awards at the Vancouver International Wine Festival

L’ABATTOIR CELEBRATES RECEIVING PLATINUM AT THE VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL’S WINE PROGRAM EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Kristi Linneboe and her wine-loving team are recognized at the highest level for the third year running

The Vancouver International Wine Festival hosted their 17th Annual Awards Lunch where L’Abattoir was awarded the coveted platinum award for their wine program for the third year in row.

The Wine Program Excellence Awards, sponsored by Vancouver Magazine, recognize establishments across British Columbia and Alberta with wine lists that complement their menu and restaurant concept perfectly.

Each year there are only a handful of restaurants that receive a platinum award and this year, L’Abattoir was among just seven restaurants in both BC and Alberta to be honoured at the highest level.  The key judges were Tom Doughty, DJ Kearney, Martha McAvity, Iain Philip and Jason Yamasaki.

“I’m so proud of our whole team for this recognition – we have such a passionate group of service professionals that have embraced our wine program and are constantly improving their knowledge to be able to give our guests an incredible dining experience every night of the week,” says Wine Director, Kristi Linneboe.

Now in its 10th year of operation, L’Abattoir has always prided itself on their wine program and knowledge development among the team.  From the most junior roles through to the senior management, a dedication to learning is a common thread.

To that end, the BC Hospitality Foundation awarded it’s Sommelier Scholarships at the awards lunch and among the recipients were L’Abattoir’s General Manager, Nick Bertoia and Sommelier, Andrew Forsyth.

The service team at L’Abattoir look forward to sharing their award-winning wine list with guests seven nights a week and during weekend brunch.
