#ShiptoSip 2021 with Blue Grouse Estate Winery

“This series features both the BC Wine new vintages and a few favourites”

If you haven’t visited Blue Grouse in picturesque Cowichan Valley you really need to do so this year. Blue Grouse Estate is comprised of 65 acres tucked away on a sunny Vancouver Island slope in the Cowichan Valley, named from a Salishan First Nations word meaning “the warm land”.

The warm, dry summers and mild, moist winters make the Cowichan Valley Canada’s only “cool” maritime Mediterranean climate. The Valley records sufficient growing ‘degree days’ during the Spring and Summer which provides good conditions for many vitis vinifera grape varietals that bud late and ripen early. The influence of global warming appears to be influencing the ripening prospects for grape growing, but varietal and site selection, combined with our vineyard management practices, remain critical to our success.

These three favourites from Blue Grouse Estate Winery are available to purchase online #wineonline or also available to pick up at the winery.

It is important that we take what our terroir gives us rather than trying to force the terroir to give us what we want.

Our Philosophy

The Blue Grouse Estate Winery’s philosophy evolves from the concept of “stewardship”, where our aim is to make everything we touch better when we leave it, than it was when we found it. We apply this to training our team of employees, the environment that hosts our vineyard and home, the vines we grow, the wines we make, the infrastructure which supports the winery and vineyard, and the economics of our business model – everything.

We ask ourselves daily “What Really Matters”? We care deeply about family and friends, living a long and healthy life, simplicity (doing a few things, but doing them very well), humility, honesty, and stewardship. We believe all of this together will make the Blue Grouse experience a lasting one.

We want you to remember us because you were at a beautiful place, on a beautiful day (rain or shine), with people you love – an experience we hope to perfect with just the right wine.
