Phantom Creek Estates Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Two Dining Offerings from The Restaurant

THE RESTAURANT AT PHANTOM CREEK ESTATES OPENS
JUST IN TIME FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Celebrate love at a special dinner event or with a takeaway meal for two

Phantom Creek Estates — including the tasting room and The Restaurant at Phantom Creek Estates — opens for the season on February 10, right on time for a delicious celebration of love. The restaurant, praised by critics for its breathtaking views, food that surprises and delights, and exquisite wine pairings, has been the South Okanagan’s most sought-after reservation since it first opened in 2021. Menus and reservations for this season’s regular lunch and dinner seatings can be viewed online now.

On February 14, the restaurant will host a special Valentine’s Dinner event between 5-8 p.m., featuring a three-course menu, perfectly paired with Phantom Creek Estates wines, for $90 per person (pairing available at $30 per person). Created by Executive Chef Alessa Valdez, the menu includes a choice of starters velouté of Jerusalem artichoke or a foie gras and chicken liver parfait. Main courses include winter agnolotti made with kabocha squash, cranberry, and Grana Padano cheese; elk tenderloin sided by seasonal vegetables; or lobster with fingerling potato, fava beans and samphire. For dessert, the options include Chocolate Entremets, or a soufflé of matcha crème anglaise. Seats for the dinner must be purchased here in advance.

It’s a perfect showcase of Chef Valdez’s food philosophy and style. Trained in such notable Toronto kitchens as Auberge du Pommier, Buca Yorkville and Alo Bar, she delights in working with fresh, hyper-local ingredients from farmers and producers throughout the Okanagan Valley to create inspiring, unforgettable food. For those who prefer to celebrate at home, Chef Valdez has also created a “Romantic Repast” meal kit to-go, featuring 63 Acres Beef Tenderloin, cooked sous vide, accompanied by potato pave, Delicata squash, and rainbow carrots. The kit also includes an assortment of house-made pastries for a sweet finish.

Ordered in advance, the meal kit can be picked up at the winery on February 14, or for local residents from Penticton to Osoyoos, it can be delivered at no extra charge. Heating and cooking instructions are included with the kit ($120). View the menu and order online here. Special pricing is also available for accompanying wines (limited 3 wines per order): 2021 Rose, $30; 2020 Viognier, $36; 2019 Estate Petite Cuvee, $40.50.
