The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is pleased to present iconic Chinese conductor Tan Dun in Crouching Tiger & Beyond — a groundbreaking show that combines the brilliance of a live orchestra with iconic footage from the legendary martial arts films Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, and The Banquet on Friday, November 9 at the Orpheum.
At the VSO School of Music’s Pyatt Hall, Maestro Otto Tausk and members of the VSO announced the program for the 2020 VSO New Music Festival (VSONMF).
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce that award-winning singer-songwriter-composer Rufus Wainwright will make his debut with the VSO in concert on Wednesday, November 6 at The Orpheum.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is pleased to present Tausk Conducts Dvořák’s New World Symphony, a concert of folk songs and music from the New World featuring five-time Grammy award-winning soprano Dawn Upshaw, on October 18, 19, and 20 at 8:00PM at The Orpheum.
Romantic favourites by Mendelssohn and Ravel will be featured alongside engaging works by popular contemporary composers.
This year’s concert will be conducted by Music Director Otto Tausk and includes repertoire that has something for everyone — from classical favourites to film score hits including the Love Theme from Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet.

Women Rock brings together the music of iconic musicians including Holly Knight, Carole King, Irene Cara, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton, Heart, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and Tina Turner.
