El Matador Spanish Tapas has just launched a tasty new promotion called “Botanas y Bebidas,” or “snacks and drinks.” Every week from Sunday to Thursday, guests will score $2 off all tapas and $1 off all drinks before 5PM and after 10PM.
Why tapas? Conversation is king for owner Paul Mon-Kau, and social dining is central to all three of his restaurants: The District Brasserie, El Matador, and The Little District Roadhouse. At El Matador, the serving of tapas is meant to encourage conversation. Diners are less focused on a large meal set before them, and more on small bites and conversation.
Mouth-watering tapas offerings include rustic bread with tomato and jamon, shallot and crimini stuffed mushrooms, and spicy fried potatoes – and all are are priced at $7 or less before discount! On the wetter side of things, the Spanish take their gin seriously – and the five gin-based house cocktails at El Matador are serious about it too. The house sangria, a refreshing mix of wine, triple sec, juice and fresh fruit, is also not to be missed.
