Wine pairing for “Taste of Thursday” Citrus Cured Hamachi

Thanks to our wine writer @RonWilsonVan for his suggestion of a wine pairing for our inaugural “Taste of Thursday” recipe submitted by Chef Alex Chen of Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar.

The flavours in Chef’s creation call for the perfect food wine and to me that’s rose. I’m recommending Road 13 Honest John’s Rosé. This excellent B.C. wine will match up with a dish that offers so many tastes on the palate.

The 2013 Honest John’s Rosé is an attractive cherry colour with a nose that is fresh and lively showing aromas of raspberry and cherry.  The palate is round but has a sense of freshness from the acidity.  Delicious flavors of cranberry, strawberry and stone fruit predominate on the palate.  This beautiful BC rosé is medium bodied, well balanced and offers a long, clean lingering finish.  A great value Rosé that is begging for friends around a summer BBQ.  Good Old Honest John Oliver would be proud of us!
