In Victoria at Fairmont Empress:  Mom (and other adults) are welcomed with a mimosa and live music in the gorgeous setting of the Crystal Ballroom from 9:30 to 3:00 pm.  A swoon worthy brunch that’s family friendly and perfect for multi gen gatherings, it includes an English crumpet bar, farm fresh egg station, build-your-own-breakfast bowl, salads, seafood and sushi, a Fan Tan Alley dim sum station, carvery station, Vancouver Island cheese and charcuterie trolley, an array of desserts and a Kids Buffet.  Adults are $79, children six to 12 are $43, and children five and under dine free. A harpist provides background music and every mother will receive a selection of chocolates to take home. Adults are $79, children 12 and under are $39.50.

Upstairs on the ballroom level there is a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea & Garden Party inspired by a classic English garden, filled with blooms, live music and a menu fit for a queen.  A photo-worthy fresh flower wall is a perfect backdrop for a picture with mom wearing her fascinator, and all adults receive a welcome glass of bubbly or Caesar cocktail. Afternoon tea includes a selection of scones with clotted cream and preserves, savory sandwiches like Coronation chicken salad, smoked salmon, shrimp and lobster topped with Northern Divine caviar and of course, cucumber with crème fraiche. The dessert finale offers treacle tart, Linzer torte, Battenberg cake, a crème brulee macaron and raspberry trifle. Every mother will receive a selection of hand-crafted chocolates to enjoy at home. Reservations are available at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, and adults are $99 (includes welcome glass of sparkling), and half price for children 12 years of age and under.
At Fairmont Pacific Rim, it’s beauty and the brunch. At Willow Stream Spa, mom can be pampered with one of the most individualized facials in North America.  The first hotel spa in Canada to partner with French couture skincare line, Biologique Recherce (BR), it’s also one of only two spas in Canada to offer a Skin Instant Lab machine.  Any BR facial booked in the month of May, including the Custom Glow, Second Skin or VIP 02, will receive a complimentary Skin Instant Lab consultation which provides a customized diagnosis of the skin’s needs along with a recommended customized treatment protocol. Brunch in Botanist includes a Strawberry Fields Forever cocktail on arrival, a welcome amuse, pastry and pantry pop up breakfast with fruits charcuterie, pastries and breads, choice of carveries with salmon and roasts, mains and dessert buffet for $98 per person.  Every mom will receive a gift to take away.  Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by phone at 604- 695-5500.

Fairmont Vancouver Airport is celebrating mom all weekend in Globe@YVR with a special Mothers’ Day Afternoon Tea on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12.  Guests can pick and choose from the donut wall, interact with the chef at the pop-up chocolate station and enjoy live music.  For tea, items include local stone fruit scone with homemade preserves, savouries such as crab cake and dill cucumber sandwich and sweets like lychee rose layer cake and Earl Grey chocolate mousse.  All mothers will receive a sweet take-away from the pastry chef.  Seatings are offered at noon and 2:30 p.m. and it’s priced at $69 per adult and half price for children 12 and under.  Guests enjoying Mothers’ Day afternoon tea also receive two hours of complimentary parking at the YVR self-parking lot. At Fairmont Waterfront, ARC is offering seatings for Mother’s Day Brunch at 10:00 am and noon and with floor-to-ceiling views of the harbour, there is always something to watch.   Family friendly with a special kids’ culinary station, the brunch also has everyone’s favourite breakfast items along with a prime rib and salmon carving station, dessert buffet with treats from their pastry shop, a complimentary mimosa for all adults and live music. Priced at $99 for adults and half price for children 12 and under. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 604-691-1818.
