Celebrate International Chardonnay Day on May 27
Did you know? Our Chardonnay was served to her Majesty the Queen at the Government of Canada State Dinner in 2010. “When the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh toured Eastern Canada in June and July, they were served, among other things, a 2007 chardonnay from Township 7. Lucky them. The Naramata, B.C. winery produces excellent wines from both the south Okanagan Valley and from vineyards around Langley, southeast of Vancouver.” – Beppi Crosariol, Globe & Mail
“This wine is made with fruit from an Oliver vineyard. Half the fruit was fermented in French oak barriques and also went through malolactic fermentation. The other half was fermented in stainless steel, with no malolactic ferment. The outcome is a very balanced wine showcasing the citrus and peach aromas and flavours, with notes of vanilla and butter.”

This single vineyard wine was fermented in French oak barrels of which 20% were new. The barrels were stirred to increase lees contact and add roundness to the palate. Fermentation in oak ensures greater integration and structure in the wine.
