We’re absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news. Our Rieslings have once again shone brightly on the international stage.
At the prestigious 2025 Los Angeles International Wine Competition, our Rieslings earned an impressive set of accolades:
- Riesling Reserve 2022 – Gold Medal, 95 points, and Best of Class
- Small Lot Dry Riesling 2023 – Silver Medal
- Riesling 2023 – Silver Medal
Riesling is our signature white wine at Fort Berens. Loved by wine enthusiasts, sommeliers, and restaurateurs alike, it’s a wonderfully food-friendly wine with incredible versatility. We’re proud to craft Riesling in a range of styles—from our classic, slightly off-dry Riesling, to our crisp Small Lot Dry Riesling, and our barrel-aged, wild ferment Riesling Reserve.
To receive this collection of medals across our Riesling portfolio is an honour. And having our Riesling Reserve named Best of Class is especially meaningful to our team.
As the most widely planted white varietal in our vineyard, Riesling thrives in our desert-like climate here in Lillooet. The dramatic shifts between warm days and cool nights preserve the grape’s acidity, resulting in wines that are vibrant, aromatic, and beautifully balanced.
Riesling is also one of few noble white wines with excellent aging potential. In its youth, expect bright notes of Granny Smith apples, apricots, floral notes, and muscat-like aromas. With time in the cellar, it evolves into a deeper golden hue with rich, layered aromas of beeswax, butter, honey, and butterscotch.
