Reception-Style Event at Italian-Inspired Caffè, Ristorante Features $4 Aperol Spritzes, Specials on New ‘Cicchetti’ Snacks Debuting on ‘Aperitivo Hour’ Menu
With the approach of summer comes patio season, and with it, a new al-fresco seating section that officially opens at Gastown’s authentically Italian caffè-all-day, ristorante-by-night Di Beppe on Wednesday, June 12.
That day from 4 to 6 p.m., guests can toast the opening of Di Beppe’s patio overlooking Carrall Street by enjoying a reception-style outdoor mingler featuring $4 Aperol spritzes and complimentary samples of the restaurant’s new ‘Cicchetti’ options such as egg with anchovy and olive, tuna conserva with pickled pepper and olive, prosciutto di Parma panino, and navy bean salad with espelette pepper, among others.
The new ‘Cicchetti’ small bites will become a regular addition to the restaurant’s lineup of ‘Aperitivo Hour’ features. They will be offered for $2 to $5 on Fridays and Saturdays from 3 to 6 p.m. beginning Friday, June 15, with new items being added to the menu by Di Beppe Chef Andrew Morales as new seasonal ingredients and inspiration arrive.
Available daily from 3 to 6 p.m., Di Beppe’s ‘Aperitivo Hour’ features an array of cocktails (Aperol spritz, bicicletta, aperitivo americano, negroni), $8; vermouth (Cinzano rosso, Cinzano bianco extra dry), $3; vino (rosso, bianco, rosato, prosecco), $5; birra alla spina for $4; and an assortment of snacks, signature pizza alla palla and dolci such as tiramisu, cannoli and Amaretti bonet.
