Kim Mead is a wine and food writer with a passion for the stories behind the glass and on the plate. After an early retirement from a career in horticulture, Kim turned a lifelong curiosity about wine into a full-time pursuit of study and exploration. She holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Merit, is an Italian Wine Essentials graduate, and earned the French Wine Scholar designation with Honours through the Wine Scholar Guild. Currently, Kim is working toward becoming a Bordeaux Master with the Guild.
Based in Vancouver, Kim is an active member of the city’s vibrant wine community. She is part of the Vancouver chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux and serves as Cellar Master for the Vancouver chapter of the International Wine and Food Society. Outside of her studies and writing, Kim enjoys traveling, sharing great food and wine with friends, and exploring the outdoors.
