“Since they were re-discovered in the19th century, the Brandenburg Concertos have become one of the most adored and oft-played works of all time. In programming EMV’s 50th anniversary season, it seemed vital to include performances of this beloved complete collection of concertos by J.S. Bach,” says Mathew White
Romantic favourites by Mendelssohn and Ravel will be featured alongside engaging works by popular contemporary composers.

This Grammy Award winning multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, singer and composer began his career doing covers of popular songs on YouTube.
The lights dimmed and there was a welcome solo DJ mix that started the show. We watched the DJ tap quickly and heard the heavy beats that dropped as he worked both hands and an elbow across his marvelous music machine. Just then the Roots entered to a standing ovation.
This year’s concert will be conducted by Music Director Otto Tausk and includes repertoire that has something for everyone — from classical favourites to film score hits including the Love Theme from Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet.
“I am really excited to have The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer with Dawn Pemberton kick off the 10th year of Musical Nooners. They are an incredible live band with electrifying energy,” remarks Jon Siddall.
