If you are looking foe something different and new with your dining experience then Le Petit Chef might be just the escape you are looking for. A fun interactive culinary excursion hosted by “a chef” who accompanies Le Petit on your journey providing a culinary communiqué throughout your dining experience.

It definitely is an experience as Le Petit Chef pops up on your table, courtesy of overhead projectors, and becomes your dinner companion of sorts. I loved the vignettes and the antics of Le Petit Chef as he first forages for your dinner. Digging vigorously in his garden for the fresh vegetables to adorn your plate. And adorn they do as they magically appear on your plate, but wait there is another surprise in the garden, oh no! But of course I am not going to give away the surprise you will have to wait to see for yourself!

With each course the backdrop, being your white tablecloth, becomes a colourful kaleidoscope that changes with the dishes presented.

When we arrived we were welcomed into the Marriott Victoria Lounge to enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly to get our evening started.

The Le Petit Chef dinner is served in a private dining room set with four tables for four people at each table. The room is quiet and comfortable. Tables are set with white tablecloths which act as the backdrop for the visuals.

Now it’s time to begin. About the dishes; each course was beautifully prepared and gave justice to the theme of visual excitement.

I was pleased that Fire & Water were flexible and allowed hubby and I to subsititute the main with a fish dish, in this case it was the Pacific Halibut served with the vegetables included in the Surf et Gazon menu option.

About the dishes; the Caprese Salad had a very generous portion of fresh Burrata cheese and tasty heirloom tomatoes accented by the tangy Arugula. It was very tasty and fresh, a perfect start to dinner and our Le Petit Chef experience.

With each course served our own real “chef” served the dishes with an explanation of how each was prepared with an emphasis on the quality of the ingredients and how their flavours were enhanced by the capable hands of the Fire & Water Restaurant chef and team in the kitchen.

Our second course was a delightful Bouillabaisse of local seafood in a delicious tomato broth and served with an Artisan bread. The main course is usually the Classic Striploin but thanks to advance arrangements we were able to enjoy the Pacific Halibut instead. An excellent choice. The dessert was so delicious, rich and creamy, the perfect ending to the meal.

We enjoyed a range of wines that were recommended to pair with each dish. For a few we did vary off a bit but all wines were enjoyed. There is a choice of Tier 1 or Tier 2 wines to pair with each dish. We sampled the Black Hills Chardonnay and Black Hills Viognier (Tier 2) a Sandhill Two (hubby) (Tier 2) and a Sandhill Pinot Gris for me (Tier 1) and finally the Red Rooster Riesling Icewine (Tier 2).

LE PETIT CHEF – AN IMMERSIVE CULINARY JOURNEY WITH 3D VISUALS

Using cutting-edge 3D Mapping Technology, diners will be able to follow the smallest Chef in the world right on their dinner plates. Guests can choose between the Classic Menu, a special Children’s “Le Petit Junior Chef” menu, as well we offer Vegetarian menu chioces. Wine pairings are available on request.

“Le Petit Chef” in Victoria is a cooperation between Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour and 2Spicy Entertainment GmbH.

Please note, our tables are designed to accommodate groups of up to 4 guests. Due to limited seating, you may find that you share your table with another party or depending on the size of your party, you may be split onto other tables. In our experience, this makes for a fun evening for all 16 people to enjoy the show as a larger group.
