It’s finally summer and the weather is just starting to cooperate. It’s time to get down to selecting our favourite summer sippers to enjoy on your patio, deck, the beach or wherever you go this summer.
Estate fruit grown in the Similkameen Valley and co-fermented on Viognier skins as is done in the Rhine Valley of France. The wine was aged for 20 months in new and second use French and American oak barrels, each of which imparts different nuances to the wine.
2014 Chardonnay Bordertown Osoyoos, BC $26.90 Lemon yellow with medium-light intensity. Like many California chardonnays, this one leads with oak yet isn’t overly oily or drenched in tropical fruit. 2012 Chardonnay Reserve Noble Ridge Okanagan Falls, BC $29.90 Golden yellow colour with medium intensity. Buttered toast, apple, pear and tropical fruit on the nose.
