The Laughing Stock and Culmina Meet the Makers celebration was one of the premier events of the fall wine season showcasing some outstanding wines from both wineries.
Yields are as expected and up from last year. With the flavour and natural acid in this vintage, Ajay is expecting bright, aromatic white wines and red wines full of flavour and complexity.
The pairing of the Fort Berens Estate Winery Small Lot Dry Riesling is excellent and goes nicely with the flavours of the beets and also stands up to the goat cheese and tangy dressing, not an easy feat to accomplish.
With this pairing, I want to match the delicate flavour and lightness of the albacore tuna to the freshness and refreshing acidity of the Dry Riesling from Fort Berens
There were so many excellent wines available for tasting and I did my best to get around to each table, choosing to taste mostly white wines as time permitted.
