About 200 CheckMate wine club members and their guests strolled about the spacious areas in the room that was set with wine and food pairing stations. In the library you could pair your choice of Chardonnay with a delectable crab cake or discover another corner of the room and enjoy a different selection of Chardonnay with the never ending array of bite size sushi.
A few of our favourite Chardonnays are fully allocated and the remaining bottles will be heading to our library. Before we hide them away, stock up on some of these great Chardonnays!
The unique, Pied de Cuve wine is Checkmate’s only unoaked expression of Chardonnay. A modern take on tradition, naturally fermented in ceramic Clayver vessels placed in the Dekleva Vineyard.
One of the first things to do when learning about a wine, especially one that for any number of reasons, you may have been avoiding is to immerse yourself in that varietal. To do this means taking the opportunity to taste the wines produced by a variety of wineries and winemakers.
