Valentine’s Day is a chance to show the one you love some extra special attention with flowers, chocolate, and a night out. But sometimes it’s hard to cram that all into a busy Valentine’s Day- so we’re extending it to Valentine’s Week.
The group behind Railtown’s The Mackenzie Room,Collective Hospitality (comprised of Andrew Jameson, Chef Sean Reeve, and Antonio Cayonne), is set to open a new concept in January of 2020. Located in the Fraserhood, ‘Say Mercy!’ is an unexpected love story between Italian and American Barbeque, bringing together two of Executive Chef Sean Reeve’s biggest passions.
Each restaurant has a featured dish and the proceeds of that dish go to the Powell Street Getaway at 528 Powell Street, a peer-led resource centre that supports people living with chronic illnesses, addictions and/or mental health challenges. Funds raised from Dine Railtown will be put directly towards Powell Street Getaway programming and initiatives.
Nine leading Railtown restaurants and cafés will come together to showcase the heart of a growing culinary community and help support a community-serving organization when the month-long Dine Railtown initiative debuts on November 1.
A percentage of all cocktail proceeds will be donated to QMUNITY, an LGBTQ community centre located on Bute Street in the Davie Village that works to improve queer, trans, and Two-Spirit lives by creating support, establishing connections, and providing leadership.

The Mackenzie Room announces today their new 4-course large format dinner series, Form@. With a new food focus and beverage pairing every week, the series aims to celebrate The Mackenzie Room’s commitment to sustainability and local ingredients. The dinner series will focus on large format plating and will be served family style, with the assistance of chef Sean over four courses.
