Estate fruit grown in the Similkameen Valley and co-fermented on Viognier skins as is done in the Rhine Valley of France. The wine was aged for 20 months in new and second use French and American oak barrels, each of which imparts different nuances to the wine.
What is impressive, is that Coltibuono is so much more than just a winery. It was expanded its offerings to include a restaurant, a cooking school, olive farming and an onsite shop selling a wide range of local products and offering tourist related activities.
We were there to find out more about the new happenings at Cowichan Valley’s Blue Grouse winery from owner Paul Brunner.

Vanessa Vineyards is located between Keremeos and Osoyoos in the Similkameen Valley, which is proving to be one of the finest wine regions in the country with hot, dry climate and frequent breezes which minimize disease and pest problems.
At the last meeting, we compared one wine served in a regular wine glass to the same wine served in a variety specific expensive Zalto wine glass. Because the wine in the second glass was noticeably improved, we did this comparison with each wine this time.
