From the Cellar with @Sam_WineTeacher

While most people drink what they buy in a matter of days, if not hours, more and more people are realizing the benefits of holding on to some of their wines and are enjoying the benefits of doing so.

#TasteofThursday Pappardelle paired with Howling Bluff

Today the #TasteofThursday recipe comes from Dana Reinhardt of Cook Italy. An accomplished chef and instructor this recipe is perfect for the season. I can see why Dana says it is one of her favourites. I can’t wait to try this one, paired with a favourite BC wine.

Experiencing the Wines of Church and State

Every wine has it’s own characteristics and well, frankly, some things should just not be rushed, especially with the wines of Church and State. Pleasure and enjoyment of the mighty grape falls into that category.

Big Reds for a Barbecue

As we waited for everyone to arrive, we chatted and strolled the gardens with a refreshing glass of 2018 La Ensemble, a sauvignon blanc/semillon blend from La Frenz winery in Naramata.

#WelcomeBack to Vanessa Vineyard

No journey through the Similkameen is complete without a stop at Vanessa. The Tasting Room is one of my favourites, so calming and zen it is the ideal setting for tasting the outstanding wines of Master Winemaker Howard Soon.

2019 #FavouriteThings Holiday Gift Suggestions – McWatters Collection

Day Three and it falls on a #WineWednesday. That seems apropos for the legend that was Harry McWatters. Dubbed the “godfather” of BC Wine meant with great respect for this pioneer of the British Columbia wine industry.

Day Tripping to Covert Farms Family Estate

The farm is 650 acres with 300 acres leased to Peller Estates and 40 acres leased for the production of organic fruits and vegetables. There is a store with Secrest organic produce and even fields of u-pick, just like a real farm because it truly is a real working farm.

Follow the Golden Mile to Road 13 Estate Vineyards

We had a terrific visit and Joe is the ultimate host, so knowledgeable and he made the experience really enjoyable. One of the best ways to enjoy the winery is as a Club 13 member. You can book a tasting in the Castle Tasting Room.
